A Practical Advice In Searching For A Partner In Life

I read this from a broadsheet newspaper and there's some truth about this advice:

"The problem with most people is that,
they keep looking, searching endlessly for the right partner.
But most of the time, that person is right in front of them.
But they hardly notice this person
because they're always searching for someone better.
So they waste a lot of time and effort in this crazy pursuit
and eventually, they would realize, they've run out of choices
or it's already too late.
So, if you feel you're already with "the one",
go for it."

Is The Lord Directing You To That Person In Marriage...Then Go For It!

I'm not an expert on this topic because I'm not married yet and in fact, once in my life, i almost entered into a marriage plan that is not God's will for me (but i thank God that he saved me from it.)

I'm here to share what i've learned from my daily reading of God's word. As a student of the word of God, i've learned that if God is leading you to that person to be your future partner, then go for it, if not, then don't.

In Genesis 24:50-51, we can read there: "Laban and Bethuel answered, “This is from the LORD; we can say nothing to you one way or the other. Here is Rebekah; take her and go, and let her become the wife of your master’s son, as the LORD has directed ."

God will direct us even to the right person we're going to marry. If we would constantly pray and read His word, we would know in our hearts if God is directing us to that person in marriage or not.

God may be speaking to us in different ways but we should always include God in choosing the right mate for us. I know some people whom God has spoken to their hearts  when they met their future mates...words like "That will be your wife."..or "that will be your husband" (even if they haven't fallen in love with each other yet or haven't known each other that well yet.) I'm very fascinated with that kind of love story but that is not always the case. Sometimes, it's love at first sight like what happened to Adam and Eve and sometimes God would direct you to the qualities that you really admire or see in that person..the qualities you've been praying for to have in your future partner.

We can not put God in a box. I have friends who met their partners in life through online dating (but caution is also needed in this kind of dating or searching for your future partner.) Other marriage began in friendship. Whatever that situation is, if God is leading you to that person to be your future partner...go for it! Don't say one way or the other. Just go for it! A constant prayer and reading of God's word will help you in the direction God wants you for that relationship. In my first relationship, it took me almost four years to really follow God's direction that that man is not his will for my life (if i followed Him at first, it would have not caused me so much pain in my heart.) When the relationship was finally ended, God gave me a promise that He has a better plan for my life.

What God is telling you in your present relationship? Is He directing you to that person in marriage?...then go for it, but if not, be humble before God, ask for his direction everyday in your prayer time and read His word and allow Him to direct you. He knows the best for you and me.

P.S

This was the poem i originally composed for that relationship of mine  which i also posted on my other blog site:

An Utmost Prayer of Love

I feel something for you
with what i feel for you
I just commit it to the Lord
And to Him,I've committed you
My utmost prayer for you:
"May you be in-love with Him deeply
and give your heart to Him completely"

I love you...i know i do
But this love is up to God and what He will do
If its His will for me and you to become one
He will make your heart and mine one

And if this is God's will, His will will prevail....
That one day, i will be yours and you will be mine
and our love for each other will never fail
and i trust God will make a way
May we know Him more as we ask His guidance so divine
And really know His Will as we faithfully abide in the VINE

And if we are really for each other
He will cause us to be together
From this day forward i believe God will prepare a way for us to be together
And to enjoy the beautiful future He has planned for us to be together
May God's angels be commissioned- as what they are called to do
To protect us on our way...to exchanging our "I do"

And as we look forward to that time
May my name be engraved in your heart and yours in mine
May each of us know that we are really the ones God has meant to be..
......through prayers
......through circumstances
......through the people around us
......and through the powerful word and the Spirit of the Living God.
And we will boldly say to each other before we exchange "I do"
These powerful and comforting words "I love you, yes I do"

But if there would be better than you to become my partner
I would just look back to this time and feeling and say,
"Thank God , i've met you and uttered my prayer for you..
To be more in love with Him and be faithful in His word and in prayer"
And if there would be someone better than i to become your partner,
I would just look back to this time and feeling and say:
"Thank God, He gave me an opportunity to love you
and prayed the best for you."

Things I've Learned Regarding "Pre-Wedding" Based from Genesis 2:18-25 (Part 2)

It's been a long time since i haven't posted here on this blog site. I've been focusing on my first blog site but I'm back .

I've shared the part 1 of the things i've learned regarding pre-wedding from Genesis 2:18-25 last time and here's the part 2.

"Adam Was Given A Job First Before He Was Given A Wife" (Genesis 2:15-25)

I got this thought from the sermon yesterday of our Pastor in our Sunday  Church  Service and i thought of adding it here. I like that thought. God is so wise that before Eve was given to Adam, God gave Adam work first. In application to our lives, think about it, you're asking to have a wife or a husband but u don't have work yet, how are u going to support your family? Be practical.

God Will Make Sure That You And I Will Be Delighted In The Husband /Wife He Would Give (Genesis 2:23)

In that verse, we could see that Adam was loved at first sight with Eve. He was delighted when God presented Eve to him. That scene i believe was so exciting not only to God but especially to Adam and Eve. Adam was so used in seeing different animals and for him, no suitable partner was found from those species but when he saw Eve, At last! she is the one! I love how The Message Translation wrote it: "The Man said, "Finally! Bone of my bone,  flesh of my flesh!".Note the word "finally."

I remember what my other sister told me. Her connect group leader prayed for her like this: "Lord, give her a godly and goodlooking husband." And he explained to her why he prayed for her like that. He said, "Because, if our partner in life is only godly but ugly, its not delightful, isn't it?" So everytime our Area Pastor visits me and my sister and prays for a "godly husband" for us, we always add to his prayer, "and goodlooking husband , Lord."....hahaha.

Enjoy Your Time With God And God's Creation In The Time Of Waiting, Don't Complain About Your Singleness (Genesis 2:19)

Adam saw different kinds of animals with their mates but he didn't complain to God and said, "Lord, why is it that every animal has it's partner but i don't have?" But  he enjoyed what he was seeing and he even named them one by one. And I've noticed in that verse that God gave him freedom to name every animal God was bringing to him. Adam enjoyed his time with God and God's creation in the time of waiting.

I like this quote from the book True Love Weds (you can read my book review of it by clicking this). It says there, "Waiting is painful, heartbreaking, agonizing, excruciating, unbearable. yet it is all worth it! It's God's way of teaching us many, many things."

Yes, there is truth in it but instead of waiting in pain, heartbreak and agony, why not enjoy your time with God and his creation in the time of waiting? After all, girls, "man does not complete you or even for guys, "a girl" can't complete you. God completes you. " As one saying goes, "There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus." Things I've Learned Regarding "Pre-Wedding" Based from Genesis 2:18-25 (Part 1)

As i read and meditate on these verses (Genesis 2:18-25), I've learned a lot from them.

THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THE THINGS I'VE LEARNED :

God knows very well that it is not good for man to be alone." The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."(v 18)

God is the source of a spouse suitable for you and me. "... I will make a helper suitable for him."(same verse)

God didn't create the first man and woman at the same time.  "Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. " (vv 19-20).

God gave Adam time to enjoy his singleness and become productive in the garden of Eden.

Are you becoming impatient now for not meeting the suitable partner for your life yet? Look at your "garden of Eden"...enjoy your assignments, enjoy your singleness and enjoy God's creation...time will come that you'll meet him or her in God's time.

God knows the best and the right time for you and me to have a partner in life. "So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam  no suitable helper was found. So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man." (vv 20-23)

Proverbs 3:1,6,8,11 say: "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven...a time to search and a time to give up...a time to love and a time to hate... He has made everything beautiful in its time.He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

God has his timing for everything and that includes time for finding a wife /husband, time to say, "finally! i've found him/ her" and of course a time for our marriage. If it's time for you to get married right after college, then go. If God wants you to get married at 40, be happy but don't go ahead of God's timing.

God is our partner in finding the best partner for us. " So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs  and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.The man said, "This is now bone of my bones nd flesh of my flesh;she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man." )vv 21-22)

Proverbs 18:22 says, "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord."

Why do you think God would be very concerned in finding a mate for us?

Malachi 2:15 says "Has not the LORD made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring.  So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth."

God is so concerned because he is seeking godly offspring.

Searching for the best partner for you? Be partner with God first and trust Him to help you find that partner. I'm journeying with you in prayer.
