How Does The Bible Define A Man Who Commits Adultery?

There are many verses in the Bible to warn people not to commit adultery but i just want to share here two of my bible readings today which are found in Proverbs 6:32-33 and I want to share them here in different versions:

New International Version:

"But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself. Blows and disgrace are his lot, and his shame will never be wiped away."

Amplified Bible:

"But whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks heart and understanding (moral principle and prudence); he who does it is destroying his own life. Wounds and disgrace will he get, and his reproach will not be wiped away."

The Message Translations:

"Adultery is a brainless act, soul-destroying, self-destructive; Expect a bloody nose, a black eye, and a reputation ruined for good."

New Century Version:

"A man who takes part in adultery has no sense; he will destroy himself. He will be beaten up and disgraced, and his shame will never go away."

New Living Translation:

But the man who commits adultery is an utter fool, for he destroys himself. He will be wounded and disgraced. His shame will never be erased."

New King James Version:

"Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding;  He who does so destroys his own soul. Wounds and dishonour he will get, And his reproach will not be wiped away."

Thoughts: These verses are very strong. If you consider yourself intelligent and wise but commits adultery, in the eyes of God, you're still a fool. Adultery is a brainless act. Think about it. I pray that God will make you more faithful to your spouse.

Warning Against Adultery

Proverbs 6:20-37

New Century Version (NCV)

My son, keep your father's commands,
and don't forget your mother's teaching.

Keep their words in mind forever
as though you had them tied around your neck.

They will guide you when you walk.
They will guard you when you sleep.
They will speak to you when you are awake.

  These commands are like a lamp;
this teaching is like a light.
And the correction that comes from them
       will help you have life.

They will keep you from sinful women
and from the pleasing words of another man's unfaithful wife.

Don't desire her because she is beautiful.
Don't let her capture you by the way she looks at you.

A prostitute will treat you like a loaf of bread,
and a woman who takes part in adultery may cost you your life.

You cannot carry hot coals against your chest
       without burning your clothes,
and you cannot walk on hot coals
       without burning your feet.

The same is true if you have sexual relations with another man's wife.
Anyone who does so will be punished.
 People don't hate a thief
when he steals because he is hungry.

But if he is caught, he must pay back seven times what he stole,
and it may cost him everything he owns.

  A man who takes part in adultery has no sense;
       he will destroy himself.

He will be beaten up and disgraced,
and his shame will never go away.

Jealousy makes a husband very angry,
and he will have no pity when he gets revenge.

  He will accept no payment for the wrong;
he will take no amount of money.

The Kind Of Wife The Lord Gives (From Proverbs 19:14)

I don't know...but recently, i have a strong conviction to post here something that would help men.

When i read Proverbs 19:14, I was fascinated with different translations of the kind of wife God gives.

To all men out there, here's the kind of wife God gives (from Proverbs 19:14):

A WISE WIFE

Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a wise wife is a gift from the Lord. Proverbs 19:14 New Century Version (NCV)

A PRUDENT WIFE

Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the LORD. Proverbs 19:14 New International Version (NIV)

A WISE, UNDERSTANDING AND PRUDENT WIFE

House and riches are the inheritance from fathers, but a wise, understanding, and prudent wife is from the Lord. Proverbs 19:14,  Amplified Bible (AMP)

A SENSIBLE WIFE

You may inherit all you own from your parents, but a sensible wife  is a gift from the LORD. Proverbs 19:14,Contemporary English Version (CEV)

A CONGENIAL SPOUSE

House and land are handed down from parents, but a congenial spouse comes straight from God.  Proverbs 19:14 The Message (MSG)

God knows your heart, men. God knows the best for you. So come to Him and He will give you a prudent, wise, understanding, sensible and congenial wife. Proverbs 18:22 says, "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD." If you're still searching for the woman you're going to marry, seek God and He will give you the best.

The Measure Of A Man

Lyrics
This world can analyze and size you up
And throw you on the scales
They can IQ you and run you through
Their rigorous details
They can do their best to rate
And they'll place you on their charts
And then back it up with scientific smarts

But there's more to what you're worth
Than what their human eyes can see

CHORUS

Oh I say the measure of a man
Is not how tall you stand
How wealthy or intelligent you are
'Cause I found out the measure of a man
God knows and understand
For He looks inside to the bottom of your heart
And what's in the heart defines
The measure of a man

Well you can doubt your worth

And search for who you are and where you stand
But God made you in His image
When He formed you in His hands
And He looks at you with mercy
And He sees you through His love
You're His child and that will always be enough

For there's more to what your worth

Than you could ever comprehend

REPEAT CHORUS

BRIDGE

You can spend your life pursuing physical perfection
But there's so much more than ever meets the eye
For God looks through the surface
And he defines your worth by what is on the inside

REPEAT CHORUS
